What are the side effects of Baytril Tablet?
Urine crystals may form as a result of taking this drug. Lab tests can be used to diagnose these conditions. This drug's crystals should never be mistaken with crystals that are more therapeutically significant, such as struvite, oxalate, or urate. In dogs under the age of eight months, joint cartilage damage may occur. This isn't a concern with cats, and it's only likely to happen in pups. Do not give this medicine to puppies unless your veterinarian believes that the infection is severe enough to warrant it. Pseudomonas ear infection in dogs may necessitate a very large dose. It's possible that nausea will develop in such circumstances. Diarrhea and vomiting may occur if 10 times the recommended amount is given. When the right dose is given to the pet, this is unlikely to happen.
What special precautions are there?
Baytril and other fluoroquinolones may cause the development of lesions in weight-bearing joints. Therefore, it is unsafe for administration to puppies under 6 weeks old due to their still-developing joints.
If overdose occurs, please contact your local pet hospital or emergency pet clinic immediately.
