Capstar is compatible with a wide range of other products, including flea and tick preventatives, shampoos, dewormers, immunizations, antibiotics, corticosteroids, and heartworm preventatives. Capstar has little influence on the pet's surroundings, which may necessitate a repeat treatment. Adult fleas will re-infest your house if there are immature fleas present. Because fleas are recognized parasite vectors, Capstar is useful in avoiding parasite invasion (such as tapeworms). If your pet becomes re-infested, you can safely give another dose every day. A single dose is usually sufficient to completely eliminate flea infestations in dogs.
For use in cats and dogs between 2 and 25 lbs, administer 1 tablet. Fleas can cause skin disorders in your pet, such as miliary dermatitis in cats and flea allergic dermatitis (FAD) in dogs, in addition to the normal irritations associated with infestations. All affected pets in the house should be treated. Fleas can proliferate on untreated pets, prolonging infections. It is fine to offer a second tablet if you are not sure your pet swallowed the first. Place the pill straight in your pet's mouth or conceal it in food to administer CAPSTAR Tablets. If you conceal the pill in food, keep an eye on your pet to make sure they eat it.
