It is clinically proven to treat canine periodontal disease and urinary tract infections. It is a safe therapy for pets that aids in the fight against dangerous microorganisms. For up to 30 days, it is effective against a wide spectrum of gram-negative and gram-positive anaerobic and aerobic bacteria.
How does Clavacillin (Amoxicillin Trihydrate and Clavulanate Potassium) Tablet work?
The two primary components in this formulation are clavulanate and amoxicillin. Each ingredient is an antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity. For maximum effect, they function in tandem. Clavulanate weakens amoxicillin-resistant bacteria, causing susceptibility, whereas amoxicillin prevents bacteria from forming a cell wall.

What are the side effects of Clavacillin (Amoxicillin Trihydrate and Clavulanate Potassium) Tablet?
Tell your veterinarian if you notice signs of any adverse reaction. In rare cases, allergic reactions have occurred. If you notice symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue treatment and seek emergency care. Such symptoms include facial swelling, puffiness, scratching, hives, fever, rash, or irregular breathing. Gastrointestinal upset is possible, but typically mitigated by administering the medication with food. GI symptoms might include diarrhea, vomiting, decreased appetite, or nausea. This drug is thought to be safe for pregnant animals to take.
What special precautions are there?
This product is not proven safe for breeding or pregnant animals. This drug should not be administered to animals that have previously been allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin. If an allergic response occurs, steroids and/or epinephrine should be given.

How can I store Clavacillin (Amoxicillin Trihydrate and Clavulanate Potassium) Tablet?
Keep in a dry environment at room temperature between 68-77° F
Follow your veterinarian's instructions closely when treating your pet with any drug. The suggested dosage for cats is 1mL (6.25mg) twice daily per 10 pounds of body weight. Skin infections, soft tissue infections, abscesses, cellulitis, wounds, superficial pyoderma, juvenile pyoderma, and periodontal infections should be treated for 5 to 7 days, or until all symptoms have disappeared, whichever comes first. Never use a treatment for over 30 days at a time. If your dog does not respond after 5 days of treatment, stop treatment and have your veterinarian re-assess the treatment and diagnosis It's possible that deep pyoderma will require treatment for up to 21 days.
62.5-mg tablet for dogs and cats contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 50 mg of amoxicillin activity and 12.5 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. 125-mg tablet for dogs contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 100 mg of amoxicillin activity and 25 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. 250-mg tablet for dogs contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 200 mg of amoxicillin activity and 50 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. 375-mg tablet for dogs contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 300 mg of amoxicillin activity and 75 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt.
