Tablets can be hidden in a little amount of food if your cat has problems swallowing them. Tablets should be taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before eating to ensure optimal absorption. Absorption might be hampered by food. Cats' tablets that are "dry swallowed" may not make it to the stomach. They have the potential to become trapped in the esophagus. To stimulate and accelerate appropriate transit to the stomach, provide 3cc to 6cc of water shortly after delivering a pill. Cats and Small Dogs (12 Lbs and under) should take one 90mg tablet; medium dogs (13 to 34 lbs) should take one 225mg tablet; large dogs (35 to 65 lbs) should take one 425mg tablet; extra large dogs (66 to 120 lbs) should take two 425mg tablets; and giant dogs should take three 425mg tablets.
