Praziquantel attacks the parasite from within, causing it to actually disintegrate. Pyrantel pamoate is an ascarid and hookworm-killing parasite paralyzing chemical. Once paralyzed or destroyed, the intruder is normally removed by the gut or immune system.

Overview
Administer 1/4 tablet to cats weighing 1.5 to 1.9 pounds. Administer 1/2 tablet to cats weighing 2 to 3 pounds. Administer 1 tablet to cats weighing 4 to 8 pounds. Administer 1 1/2 tablets to cats weighing 9 to 12 pounds. Administer 2 tablets to cats weighing 13 to 16 pounds. Base your cat's dose on his or her body weight.
