What special precautions are there?
When giving this drug to the animal, keep an eye out for severe or long-term side effects. Your veterinarian may also want to keep an eye on the pet to make sure the medicine is working as it should. Never give this medicine to an animal that has a known allergy to it. Administer with caution to pets that have a pyelo duodenal blockage (an obstruction between the small intestine and the stomach), angle-closure glaucoma, severe heart failure, bladder neck obstruction, or an enlarged prostate (prostatic hypertrophy). Apply with caution to animals that are nursing or pregnant. When using meclizine with an anticholinergic or a central nervous system depressant, proceed with caution. Before using any additional drugs, supplements, vitamins, or herbal remedies on your pet, consult with your veterinarian.
