Symptoms of a rare, undiagnosed, adverse kidney response include: Vomiting Liver problems Inappetence Lethargy Yellow eyes Yellow skin Yellow gums Dark urine Bleeding and scratching caused by facial itch If you observe any unusual symptoms, contact a veterinarian. These may include: Bleeding Bruising Fever of 103ºF or more Drowsiness Myasthenia gravis (severe trouble swallowing and muscle weakness Adverse reactions typically occur within the first 3 months of use. They generally subside if the dose is lowered, then increased gradually to normal levels over a period of 3 months.
What special precautions are there?
When handling the body fluids and/or litter of treated animals, as well as when handling Methimazole pills, nursing mothers, pregnant women, and women who may become pregnant should wear gloves.

Overview
This medication is necessary for survival. Symptoms will almost certainly return if you stop taking the medication. Blood tests should be performed every 3 to 4 weeks until the optimum maintenance dosage has been established. Blood tests should be done every 3 to 6 months after that.
