It's a one-dose medication for cats and kittens who are a minimum of 8 weeks old and weigh at least 2.2 pounds. How does Profender for Cats, 1 Dose work?
Hair follicles transport Profender to the skin. From there, it  enters the bloodstream and travels to the intestines, where it begins to control and treat infections, such as hookworms, roundworms, and tapeworms. Taenia taeniaeformis, Echinococcus multilocularis, and Dipylidium caninum are all tapeworms that can be treated with praziquantel, which is made from pyrazine isoquinoline. The parasite's surface alters the CA++ permeability of the parasite membranes, allowing praziquantel to be readily absorbed. This causes serious integument damage, spasm, paralysis, metabolic disturbance, and death of the parasite. Emodepside is a semi-synthetic depsipeptide chemical that kills roundworms and hookworms. Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Toxascaris leonina, and Toxocara cati are all susceptible to it. This component operates by triggering secretin receptor presynaptic receptors in the neuromuscular junction, causing parasite paralysis and death.
