Allowing the animal to stand all day is never a good idea. Give the animals mild exercise time daily if they exhibit indications of being unable to move. If the horse is extremely lame, lead it twice a day for 30 minutes in the pasture by hand. Allow the animal to move during the timeout. To treat scaling or cracking, never use topical remedies like lard or oil. When applying, make sure the hair is out of the way and use a soft brush or your hands to massage the product in. Continue this procedure until the application area cracks or scales. Allow the area to heal when skin cracking or scaling begins. Do not over-saturate the skin - use just enough to moisturize it. Use this product warm and straight on the skin for optimum effects.
