What special precautions are there?
When cats with patent heartworm infections were given three times the recommended amount of selamectin, no hypersensitivity responses were noted. The effects of higher dosages were not investigated. The mature stage of D. immitis is not killed by this product. The skin and eyes of humans may be irritated by this substance. After each treatment, carefully wash your hands. Although the number of circulating microfilariae may reduce following treatment, this product is not designed to eliminate microfilariae. Hives, itching, and skin redness have been reported in humans. If this product comes into touch with your eyes, use a lot of water to rinse them out. Not for human use. Never use in pets who are underweight, emaciated, or unwell. Keep away from children and animals. Do not use on kittens under the age of eight weeks.

Instructions for Use: 1) Take the tube out of the packaging. 2) Maintain an erect position for the applicator tube. 3) Snap the applicator tip by bending it backwards. 4) Part the rear of your cat's hair. Visualize the skin in front of the shoulder blades at the base of the neck. 5) Press the applicator's tip onto the dog's skin. Squeeze the tube three or four times to get the entire contents out in one area. 6) Squeeze the tube and draw it away from your cat's skin, raising it as you go. 7) Double-check that you've dispensed the entire contents. Follow your veterinarian's instructions for use. Dosing recommendations are: 5 Lbs or Less: Mauve Packaging (15 mg selamectin per 0.25 mL tube) 5.1 - 15 Lbs: Blue Packaging (45 mg selamectin per 0.75 mL tube) 15.1 - 22 Lbs: Taupe Packaging (60 mg selamectin per 1 mL tube) Not for use on wet coats. Put the empty tube in the garbage with the rest of your household refuse. Prior to shampooing or bathing your pet, wait 24 hours. At the application location, hair discoloration, stiffness, clumping, or powdery residue may develop. These symptoms are self-contained and temporary. This product should not be used on damaged skin since it includes alcohol. Never massage the product into the skin.
