What are the side effects of SMZ Sulfa Trimethoprim Tablet?
Consult your veterinarian immediately if you notice any indications of an allergic response, including facial swelling, hives, itching, abrupt diarrhea, convulsions, pale gums, chilly limbs, or coma. Anemia, which causes pale gums and fatigue, and low platelets, which causes bleeding, are two less commonly-reported side effects. When a horse is given trimethoprim sulfa, it might develop significant or even deadly diarrhea. If there are any changes in the manure or if diarrhea is noted, contact a veterinarian right away. In urinalysis, the horse's urine may include sulfa crystals. In well-hydrated horses, this is not a significant problem.
