Vetmedin is a pimobendan-containing chewable tablet used for the treatment of congestive heart failure. It has been shown to enhance your dog's clinical symptoms and extend his or her life expectancy.
Who is Vetmedin Chewable Tablets for?
Dogs must be 6 months or older and have been diagnosed with canine heart disease.
Why use Vetmedin Chewable Tablets?
Vetmedin acts to improve the heart's capacity to pump blood adequately and effectively while also reducing cardiac muscle stress. It's the first of a new family of cardiac medications for dogs called inodilators. It has been demonstrated to increase the lifespan of dogs who suffer from congestive heart failure.
How does Vetmedin Chewable Tablets work?
Vetmedin helps the heart pump blood more efficiently and effectively, and it also helps the heart beat more strongly. It acts to relieve the pressure placed on the heart by the task of pumping blood throughout the body. It lowers the pressure on the heart by opening the blood arteries that transport blood from and to the heart.

Sold in bottles of 50 or two pack of 100 tablets. Tablets come in 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg strengths
What are the side effects of Vetmedin Chewable Tablets?
Vomiting Diarrhea Lethargy Anorexia Usually, these symptoms dissipate as the animal adjusts to treatment.
What special precautions are there?
Never administer this product to pets with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or aortic stenosis, or with another condition where your pet's veterinarian does not think increased cardiac output would be safe. Do not use in dogs under 6 months old. Do not give to pregnant or lactating animals.
What to do if overdose?
If overdose occurs, please contact your local pet hospital or emergency pet clinic immediately.
How can I store Vetmedin Chewable Tablets?
Store product between the temperatures of 15°-30°C (59°-86°F)
Overview
If your pet is a picky eater, you may conceal Vetmedin inside a treat. Feed the tablets twice per day on an empty stomach, ideally 12 hours apart (AM and PM). Always administer as directed by a veterinarian.
