What are the side effects of Percorten V for Dogs, 25 mg/ml 4ml Vial?
Do not administer to dogs with congestive heart disease, severe renal disease, or edema. Do not administer to pregnant dogs. A low percentage of treated dogs could experience depression, excessive thirst and urination, and injection site reactions (such as pain and abscesses). Some of these responses may responsive with adjustments in dosage or interval, or with concomitant glucocorticoid treatment. This medication is well-tolerated and has a low number of adverse reaction reports.
What special precautions are there?
The safety this product in dogs that are breeding, pregnant, or under the age of six months is unclear. If your pet gains a noticeable amount of weight, they could be experiencing sodium retention. This medicine may induce or worsen heart enlargement, edema, increased blood volume, polydipsia, and polyuria, among other side effects. Do not use if the animal is suffering from primary hepatic failure, severe renal illness, edema, or congestive heart failure. When taking a potassium-sparing diuretic, the medication's efficacy may be harmed. If the dog has insufficient tissue perfusion, pre-renal azotemia, is dehydrated, or is hypovolemic, rehydrate the dog before delivering the medication. Never give desoxycorticosterone pivalate to a dog that is allergic to it. Keep out of the reach of children.
